The role will focus on business development, originating/underwriting small/middle market loans while managing a balanced portfolio of such loans and their corresponding relationships. The daily work flow will involve analyzing credit risk for existing and potential loans, presenting recommendations to senior management and credit committees, modifying/restructuring existing loans, cultivating new banking relationships, and cross-selling bank services. Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years experience as a commercial lender as well as formal credit training, and proven credit product and structuring knowledge. As the position calls for regular interaction with clients, prospects, financial advisors, attorneys, accountants, developers, contractors, and investment groups, superior communication skills are a must. The Bank has a strong presence in the communities it serves and as such prefers Santa Barbara, Ventura or San Luis Obispo County candidates who know the market, the key players and can hit the ground running.
