Our client is looking for a dedicated Quality Engineer to lead and facilitate the implementation of global and site specific quality initiatives and their continual improvements. The candidate is responsible for the day to day site quality engineering activities, including material disposition internal/external concern management, APQP, FMEA, PPAP activities, metrology management etc. This candidate needs to lead, guide and facilitate problem solving, analysis of data and continual improvement activities as well.


PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Generate a culture that promotes continual improvement throughout the assigned location(s).
• Communicate our mission, vision, and values.
• Train and assist employees in the Management System.
• Lead, coach, and develop quality assurance team members to assure a quality product.
• Supervise and schedule department personnel.
• Handle customer concerns and respond to needs.
• Participate in the layered audit process and as an internal management
• Monitor and review process activities.
• Initiate engineering change requests.
• Complete Internal Sample Inspection Reports.
• Responsible for and/or participate in Material Review Board and Design Review Board.
• Plan and implement inspection instruction sheets and assist Inspectors.
• Conduct Statistical Process Control activities. Put information into Verax for Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
• Complete molding sample worksheets; gage verification and calibration systems.
• Complete Internal Problem Solving Reports.
• Corrective and/or Preventive action issues.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• BS Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or ASQ Quality Engineering Certificate is preferred.
• 1-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in quality system development, automotive quality systems/technical specifications.
• Must possess management system auditing and problem solving skills.
• Experience in customer concern management is essential.
• Must be computer efficient MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, and Access.
• Working knowledge of statistical techniques, data analysis and root cause tools.
• Self directed goal-oriented individual possessing excellent communication, presentation, and organization, and leadership skills.
• Ability to teach and lead the execution of Quality initiatives in a team environment.
