Our client is looking for a Quality Manager to be responsible for the quality departments at the assigned site(s) of the organization. Further, this position shall create strategies and execution plans for the development and continuous improvement of Quality Engineering philosophies and techniques. This position shall provide support for Key Process Indicators (KPI). This position is a key contributor in generating yearly reduced operating expenses, improved productivity and cost reductions at each applicable site.


PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Generate a culture that fosters continual improvement throughout the assigned location(s).
• Lead, coach, and develop all Quality Engineering Team Members.
• Train the Trainer.
• Participate/Lead in the development and execution of training activities for Quality Team.
• Promote teamwork with cross function areas.
• Evaluate performance of Quality Engineers and set the goals of Quality Engineers.
• Identify and provide solutions for manufacturing and quality problems.
• Technical Quality Liaison between the external customer and manufacturing for new products
• Participate in root cause analysis of customer concerns.
• Participate in Defective Material Report (DMR) System.
• Participate in the Cost of Non-Quality (CNQ) reduction.
• Be a part of the Material review Board (MRB).
• Facilitate the temporary deviation and print change requests systems in Baan.
• Responsible for scanning and distributing to all approving bodies.
• Identify and monitor key quality indices that track production performance.
• Participate in all cost reduction initiatives and process enhancements to existing product and processes.
• Leader of Cost Reduction activities.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 years experience/exposure in a manufacturing and/or quality environment, with specific exposure to a lean and reduced inventory production system at a minimum.
• Proven knowledge in manufacturing process and quality engineering system development, automotive quality systems, ISO//TS International Quality Standards, MPIF standards, and problem solving.
• BS degree in Industrial/Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering, ASQ Quality Engineering, or MPIF PMT Certificate is preferred.
• 5 years experience in Powdered Metallurgy (PM) at a minimum is beneficial.
• Knowledge of PM manufacturing processes, including compacting, sintering and sizing is desired.
• Computer literate with appropriate skills in Microsoft Office Software.
• Working knowledge of statistical techniques, data analysis and root cause analysis tools are also critical to this function.
• Excellent communication, presentation and organization skills.
• A self-directed goal oriented individual is a must for this position.
• The ability to teach/train/facilitate and lead the execution of Quality Engineers initiatives amongst a cross-functional team environment is also a must.
• This position may require up to 25% travel.
