RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assume primary responsibility for implementation of the risk management programs relating to credit risk within the region. Evaluate the level of credit risk and determine if banks are in conformance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Provide management with information concerning activities reviewed and recommend changes to procedures that are not in compliance or present inordinate degrees of risk.

A “ROLL-UP YOUR SLEEVES” & “DOWN IN THE TRENCHES” POSITION:
• Review and recommend updates to the Loan Review Programs as necessary.
• Analyze credit risk as directed by the Loan Review Program.
• Identify unusual items/procedures and operating deficiencies. Recommend ways for banks to improve if results of testing were unsatisfactory.
• Identify “best practices” employed by banks and recommend that other affiliated banks replicate these practices to promote compliance or create operational efficiencies.
• Prepare written reports of findings that are presented to the appropriate directors, as well as bank and corporate officers.
• Provide input to assist in development of departmental plans to ensure resources are devoted towards areas that present the greatest risk to CBC and its affiliates.
• Evaluate credit risk associated with new products and services.
• Supervise/assist risk analyst(s).
• Coordinate with coworkers to ensure consistency of programs between regions.
• May perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
• Participate in assessments of other risk areas (i.e., transaction and compliance), if necessary.
• Seek appropriate training opportunities and self-learning to ensure maintenance of contemporary knowledge of credit issues. Also, develop and conduct internal training sessions on areas related to credit risk.
• Use technology to the extent possible to gain job efficiencies.
• Be available for special projects that may surface.
• The bank will not consider candidates whose most recent credit history has been in the residential mortgage industry.
