POSITION SUMMARY: Manages a portfolio of high-risk
small business loans (C&I+CRE).
Eliminate the Bank’s losses by collecting liquidating
troubled loans.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in finance or business; or equivalent
work experience required
• 3-5 years of increasing responsibility within commercial/small
business loan collections
• Strong analytical ability with superior written and
verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of debtor-creditor law and bankruptcy
• Not seeking former mortgage industry collectors
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Analyzes risk laden and non-performing small business
loans and prepares written and oral presentations without assistance
• Proactively manages the Bank’s small business impaired
loan portfolio, maximizing its value. Loans will be heavily weighted
with real estate collateral
• Maintains loan files to the “disinterested third
party” standard and in audit ready condition
• Provides timely and accurate “no surprises” reporting
to management
• Prepares quarterly Action Plans on all managed loans
over $100K
• Extensive interaction with the spectrum of
small business customers experiencing financial
distress, displaying tact and persuasiveness
in selling the Bank’s position
• Seeks to minimize out-of-pocket legal and non-legal
expenses related to loan remediation by focusing
on cost benefit, recovering expenses from debtors
whenever possible; maximizes loan
recoveries and fee income
• Routine interaction with Small Business staff,
Loan Review, Credit Administration, Loan Operations,
governmental agencies
(such as the SBA, FSA, etc.), external auditors,
bank examiners and other as needed. Frequent
interaction with lawyers and other
outside professionals, both those retained by
the Bank and those representing our debtors, setting and
pursuing
the Bank’s agenda.
